Assignment #1, Tearing Corners

You all listened to the same directions.


1) Why was there so much variety in the final product?
2) How does this relate to you as teachers?
3) How does this relate to your students as learners?

  1. Everyone will focus on different things and thus take away different messages. The message you receive from any interact is a product of your experiences and background. Teachers must spend time to develop awareness of self as well as awareness of others so that each interaction becomes an opportunity to build and grow relationships that will foster and promote high expectations, engagement, and achievement for students.

    Students need to feel safe and valued as a welcomed member of the team-classroom. When students feel that what they bring is valued-themselves they are motivated to participate, share and more receptive to learning.
